1. Water Bottle: Staying hydrated is crucial during any physical activity. Consider a reusable water bottle to minimize environmental impact, but I know how you all are with your giant "cups" that echo across the court every time someone drops one. I would drop it too considering it weighs 25 pounds when full. Anyways, we like Odwalla.
2. Towel: A small, quick-dry towel can be handy for wiping off sweat or cleaning equipment. It doesn't have to be a fancy brand. Just something small and washable.
3. Snacks: Pack something to keep you fueled if your mama didn't transfer the entire fridge into a cooler for your tournament. Protein bars, fruit and nuts are always a good option. We like Kind bars in the peanut butter flavor, but find one you like and check the nutritional content like the responsible athlete that you are.
4. Deodorant: Stay fresh with these amazing deodorant wipes. They won't melt in your bag like a stick will.
5. Small Trash Bag: A small garbage bag can be handy for disposing of used tissues, wrappers, or any other waste.
6. First Aid Kit: In addition to basic medicine, include items like adhesive bandages, antiseptic wipes, and blister treatment. We love Welly products. The cases are solid and keep your bandages clean. They even have one that is full of pimple patches. Like, c'mon Welly, I see you with the cute boo boo stuff.
7. Hairbrush or Comb: Keep your hair in check after a sweaty session. Find a small one and put it in a storage bag to keep it clean.
8. Extra Hair Ties: Bring extra hair ties if you use them. They always break at the most inconvenient times. These, however rarely break, even with super thick hair. Love, love, love them.
9. Sunscreen: In addition to a waterproof sport sunscreen for extended outdoor activities, think about a powder sunscreen for touch ups in between games and to keep your pores from clogging. This one has a good brush and you can buy refills.
10. Insect Repellent: If you're exercising outdoors, especially in areas with a lot of bugs, insect repellent can be very useful.
Remember to tailor your sports bag contents to your specific needs and the type of activity you're engaging in, but please please please remember the deodorant.
